Welcome!

Hello and welcome to my blog!

This blog will be dedicated to things going on in and around the New Orleans area. I'll do my best to include anything and everything that may interest a number of readers. In the "Big Easy" there's never a dull moment so you can be certain to find your reading of this blog entertaining...or that's what I hope for.

My first real post is going to deal with the issue of imported shrimp and how it's driving the market down, not to mention the numerous health concerns that come along with it. I am personally a commercial fisherman and have taken part in the protest over the past two weeks. This is a concern not only for Louisiana and it's citizens but the rest of the nation as well.

I have video  and pics of a protest that took place on the steps of the state capitol just days ago. The same outrage seen at the town hall meetings between U.S. Senators and concerned U.S. citizens has been shown at these protest. I commend my fellow fisherman for standing up for what is right by not laying down and just allowing our government to ignore the real issues both a local and national level.

Please be sure to check out the link provided on my site to the food and water watch organization. The site is very imformative and may help you to better understand part of the commercial fishermans argument about the health concerns on imported seafood. It also contains info on numerous other issues involving what we eat and drink.
